			<title>Jonah Sermon Series</title>
			<link>http://stjohnsuccjonestown.org/news/</link>
			<description>
You might ask "what does Jonah have to do with Lent or Easter?" Our
pastor, Rev. Joel Risser is presenting a sermon series on the book of
the prophet Jonah. In Matthew 12, when Jesus is asked for a sign by
some opponents, he tells them he will give them "the sign of the
prophet Jonah." Jonah was called by God to tell the people of Nineveh
to repent, but he resisted that call and instead wound up swallowed by
a sea creature for 3 days and nights. This week's message, "Saved in
the Storm" is based on Jonah 1:4-16 and shows what happens when Jonah
runs away from God's call to Nineveh. He is caught in a raging storm,
and all seems lost. For the sailors on the boat to be saved, Jonah
has to surrender to God's will...sound familiar? Come hear the rest
of the story at St. John's UCC this Lent.

			<title>Stitchers</title>
			<link>http://stjohnsuccjonestown.org/news/</link>
			<description>
Stitchers is for anyone who likes to stitch; i.e., knitting, crocheting, cross stitch, sewing, etc. We
have learned new things and taught several members to knit. The enthusiasm is contagious. We
have a lot of fun. We meet the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7 PM. We recently took a field trip to a yarn store in Hummelstown, "Yarn Love". The name says it all. Fun was had by all. Making baby hats is our mission project. We have donated them to the newborn nursery at Good Samaritan Hospital. It is an ongoing mission.
